A photographer, I am not.
So I don't usually post/talk about my dead things here, since I mostly save that stuff for Tumblr. I really liked this shot, though, so you'll have to endure it for now.
Since I finished cleaning my newest addition (Makwa, the black bear on the far right of the middle step) up, I decided to take a family photo of everyone.
now excuse me while I wax rhapsodic about my dead thingsRoll Call:Top step:
Bucksley (whitetail deer)Middle step:
Diego (replica smilodon); Derby, Willow, (whitetail deer); Crete (bull shark); Peppa, Hartley (whitetail deer); Makwa (black bear)Bottom step:
Hex (bobcat); Charm (domestic cat); Jinx (Canadian lynx); Procyon (domestic dog); Kit (grey fox); abalone shell; Alucard (muntjac); Sirius (domestic dog); Todd (red fox); shed antler; rabbit skin; Daisy (springbok)
The rabbit skin is a bit raggedy since I salvaged it from an unlucky rabbit the dog got to. The skin was mostly intact, but it had some pretty decent-sized holes and since I have very little (read: no) experience skinning, it didn't exactly turn out pretty.
I hid it pretty well here tho'.
Sadly, the dog did not have the decency to leave the head for me, if he had
to kill a rabbit.
And, you know, just in case I attract the type who needs to know: I did not kill a single one of these animals just for their bones. Most have been bought or received from ethical sources, and the ones that weren't I either found as-is or salvaged from roadkill (and one dog kill, in the case of the rabbit). And, well, Diego is fake.
