So this happened. by The13thBlackCat So this happened. by The13thBlackCat
AKA: Mammoths are assholes and deserve every second of everything.

Yep. :T I was just off to clear out a bandit den, when a dragon attacks out of nowhere. So while I'm trying to kill it, my horse Enok is running all over the place freaking out, and next thing I know he's pissed off a mammoth and it's trying to kill him.

Fjolfr does not like people picking on his horse.

So that started an epic smackdown that ended with a dragon, three mammoths, one giant, three mudcrabs, about eight or ten bandits, and one torchbug dead.

:I

Do not fuck with Dovahkiin's horse.

On the bright side, the bandits were cleared out.

I find this somewhat funny because in Icelandic, nei means no. So it seems to me that the horse is saying "No" when he asked him/her if he/she was okay.

I'm fiercely protective of shadowmere and always have been, even since the oblivion days.  if I knew I was headed to a place with enemies I'd always fast-travel to the nearest safe place first and leave her there and walk to my destination. She did manage to fuck up that unicorn one time because it's presence apparently pissed her off, saving me from having to kill it, because I felt really bad about doing that.

Dunno about Oblivion, but in Skyrim I'm pretty sure Shadowmere is the one horse you never have to worry about protecting! :D Pretty sure she respawns if she manages to die somehow. Or is immortal. Or something.

Though I completely understand being protective of her, I do the same thing with my characters' (completely normal) horses. It probably didn't help that I gave them names. :I

All I can say is W-O-W even I can't do that and I'm constantly training in block, one handed and two handed weapons, and I know just about every shout in the book well actually at least one word of power for just about every shout in the book but I'm only a leval 17 so that's probably it

Luckily, when having Skyrim for PC, there's simple answer for that trouble = invulnerable horse mod =3

I hardly use any mods, but that horsemod was first one I found from Skyrim workshop

Hehe, I know, but that mod feels like cheating to me for some weird reason. (Yeah don't ask me to explain, I have no idea.) I only set Shadowmere as invulnerable. I did set my horses to not attack everything in sight, however. But they still run around and occasionally piss something off. :T

But when something attacked a horse (wasnīt mine, but someones who roamed around first city)but his rider was killed, so I defended it :D Worse than babysitting xD

... And the torchbug had to die because of a mis-aimed Shout? Or did the epic 'how in Talos' name did that arrow hit that?!' moment come to pass? Because I've shot a Luna Moth with a bow. It took me eight shots while it was flying around my head, following me for, Kynareth knows why!

Well, it wasn't an arrow, so a mis-aimed Shout. Whether the dragon or Fjolfr was the one Shouting at the time, I don't know. >_> All I know what after it was all over I noticed a torchbug that wasn't moving, so I assumed it must be dead.

LOL, it liked you! Until you shot it, that is...

Poor little torchbug. I blame the Dragon. They can keep a shout going for what, three, four seconds? Plenty of time for it to strafe over the little guy.

It was in my way. I'm trying to go down the road, and it kept in my face. I had to do something, and I couldn't use a Shout on it because Lydia kept getting in front of me. I think it was an agent of the Dragons, or maybe the Thalmor.

I'm pretty certain it was the dragon too, since I think the only Shout I really used was Storm Call because it looks freaking epic. Well, and maybe a Marked for Death and Dragonrend or two, but I don't really remember. XD

You know, that's a good point. Reminds me of some weird mod I saw that gave all the wolves actual voices and put them on the Thalmor's side or some strange thing for some reason. Maybe they really ARE enlisting animal help...just, you know, starting a little smaller...who would ever suspect a simple moth is a Thalmor spy, right?

Storm Call could have done it, easily. Friendly fire is not only possible, it's pretty much going to happen no matter what you do. Marked for Death is my favorite Shout, along with Unrelenting Force (When there's a hill, mountain, or tall staicase nearby).

He's not reporting back. But, if it hadn't turned down that dark path, it would still be alive. Such a senseless death. That Mod seems interesting though. Now, if there was a Mod for Lilarcor, the idiotic talking sword from Baldur's Gate.

Yeah, but would Storm Call hit a torchbug? Hell, I didn't even KNOW you could hit a bug until I accidentally did; always thought they were just basically animated ingredient plants who happen to look like bugs for obvious reasons.

Unrelenting Force is a thing of beauty, provided you have good landscape for it. Of course it's still pretty fun even if you don't... My favorites are probably Storm Call (again, epic...and I don't really travel with companions) and Call Dragon. The latter isn't really useful, considering I can kill whatever the hell I want without his help, but the idea of being able to pull a dragon out of my ass when fighting twenty over-confident bandits just makes me giggle.

I dunno about the mod, it mostly seemed really weird and/or stupid to me, but eh. I may have misremembered; I only glanced at it briefly. I know what you mean about Lilarcor. Ever since Morrowind, I've missed him being in games where he actually has no business being.

You can hit them with weapons, a shield bash, or most offense shouts. I'm sure Storm Call COULD hit an insect, in theory at least. It'd be extremely unlikely, but it's possible.

Marked for Death is my top favorite, even if all I have is the first word. Apparently it can stack the armor lowering effect, and having an enemy slowly losing health while you troll them from behind your shield or from a high vantage point where they can do nothing. I've never used Storm Call (Mostly due to only bothering with a dungeon if I'm in the mood for it), and I'd rather just have all three words so it'd be better (Long cooldown though, and I like using Shouts fairly often).

Lilarcor is a highly epic, yet idiotic sentient shapeshifting sword, and if he weren't, he'd never be remembered the way he is. Apparently there are mods for Oblivion that add him in though. Perhaps there is hope for a Skyrim appearance.

Well I have my horses set to stay the heck out of fights so I don't end up accidentally carving them up, so they spend their time trying to stay as far away from hostiles as possible...which is great, except when said hostile is a dragon that's flying all over the place, and there's a bunch of pissy mammoths not that far away. :T

Ha, thanks XD Glad you like it!
